【摘要】:Theresultsobtainedwithamechanicalmullerdonotnecessarilycorrelatedirectlywithanindustrialsituationwheredifferentdispersingconditionsexist.However,dispersionwithamechanicalmullerisaquickandinexpensivewaytopreparespecimensfortestingthecolorandstrengthofapigmentforroutinequalitycontrol.ByfollowingtheproceduredescribedinAppendixX1,theconditionsforachievingthemaximumpracticaldegreeofdispersionwithamechanicalmullermaybedetermined.Anycolorandstrengthtestsdonewiththedispersionsshouldbecarriedoutundertheseconditions.1.1Thispracticeisintendedtobeusedtodisperseachromaticpigmentforsubsequenttesting.1.2Thispracticedoesnotapplytowhitepigments.Note18212;ThedispersionportionofTestMethodD3022issimilartothispractice,butitutilizesaminiaturesandmillratherthanamechanicalmuller,todispersethechromaticpigment.Note28212;ThedispersionportionsofTestMethodsD332andD2745aresimilartothispractice,buttheyareintendedforusewithwhitepigments,ratherthanchromaticpigments.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection8.
