【摘要】:Levelingcanaffectthehidingandappearanceofappliedarchitecturalcoatings,thepresenceofbrushmarksandsurfaceirregularitiesbeingmoreconspicuouswithglossandsemi-glossfinishesthanwithflatfinishes.Instrumentalevaluationsoflevelingbythistestmethodhavebeenshowntocorrelatewiththosemadebybrushapplication.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationoftherelativelevelingofwaterandsolvent-reduciblearchitecturalpaintsinwhiteandlighttintsbycomparingtheridgesproducedinadraw-downfilmtoaseriesofplasticlevelingstandards.1.2Unpigmented,texture,anddeep-tintcoatingscannotbereadilyevaluatedwiththeshadowingproducedbyobliquelightingemployedinthistestmethod.Suchcoatingsmayberatedbycomparingthemwiththeplasticstandardsatvariousanglesofreflection.Forthispurposeordinaryroomlightingissatisfactory.1.3Sinceotherfactorsmayinfluencethetendencyofliquidpaintstosag,thistestmethodisnotintendedtomeasuresagging.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
